Fire Rescue Equipment NW is the Holmatro dealer for Oregon and Northern California.  We have 6 Holmatro factory-authorized service technicians available to provide service to our customers.  Our highly experienced personnel can assist your fire department with choosing the right extrication tools for your needs.   In addition to product sales, our technicians can skillfully perform annual tool maintenance, to keep your Holmatro tools performing at their best.  We run our business like the fire service, with priority given first to emergency calls, then regular annual service maintenance.

Extrication is what we live and breathe.  We are experienced career Oregon firefighters, and believe we provide the best extrication products available on the market.  Part of our commitment is to develop and provide the best extrication training available to our customers, which we deliver to fire departments typically on a weekly basis.

Chris Mills   Owner |  Sales  |  Instructor Service Technician

Chris Mills, is a 31-year veteran of the fire service. He spent 18 years on his department's Technical Rescue Team, has served in positions of firefighter, engineer, and lieutenant. He has been awarded the Medal of Valor twice, 1 for an on-duty save
from an apartment fire and 1 for an off duty save from a house fire. He has been teaching extrication nationally since 1999, and has taught over 9,000 firefighters modern and cutting edge extrication techniques. He is working with the Firefighters Support Foundation teaching firefighters across the country. With their help, produced 4 training video’s that are being used nationwide. Was a contributing Committee Member of the IFSTA Principles of Vehicle Extrication 5th edition and IFSTA
Principles of Heavy Vehicle 1st edition. He is the founder of Fire Rescue Equipment NW and works directly with more than 200 departments on their extrication programs.

Bruce Nissen    Instructor

Bruce has 19 years of experience in the fire service. The last 9 of which he has been assigned to a truck.  When extrication classes are not on his schedule, he balances his time with fire investigations & teaching a variety of college level Fire Service classes. Both of which have filled his time since 2010.

Jake Alguire     Service Technician + Instructor

Jake grew up in the fire service with a father who was a Fire Chief. His father's passion was teaching farm machinery rescue. He decided to follow in his father's footsteps in his own career. Jake has a degree in Heavy Line Diesel Mechanics and has worked in the agricultural field as a mechanic with the service truck for 9 years. For many years he served as a volunteer firefighter, and has been a full-time career Firefighter/EMT for 10 years. Jake is the Training Officer for West Valley Fire District. He has been working with FRENW since 2016, and is a Holmatro Factory Trained Service Technician. He has always enjoyed the puzzle of machinery and vehicle extrication, as well as the construction of equipment and vehicles. Jake really enjoys camping with his family and hunting.

Jim Perkins     Service Technician + Instructor

James, (Jim) Perkins is a 35 Year veteran of the Fire / Rescue service.  Jim started his fire career as a volunteer in rural Nevada advancing to the rank of Fire Chief for his department.  He joined the Clark County Fire Department in Las Vegas, Nevada in 1973 and participated in the Governors pilot study for Paramedics becoming one of the first Paramedic’s for the state and CCFD.  He founded the departments High angle Rescue Team and was an alternate member of the NFPA standards development group on technical rescue. As a Captain on Heavy Rescue 21 Jim served as the departments’ Technical rescue Training officer, Rescue Manager and Task Force Leader for NVTF-1 deploying on many National disaster incidents including the World Trade Center in 2001.  He was a member of the national rescue working group for FEMA/Homeland Security tasked with developing, evaluating and delivering training to the federal task forces. Jim is affiliated with Crash Rescue Technologies, a multi-national group that is active in researching and developing progressive vehicle extrication training for first responders. He currently resides in Brookings Oregon and is the dealer for Holmatro Rescue Tools for Southern Nevada.
